Draft Children's Commissioner law to be scrutinised

27th March 2019

The Draft Children Commissioner's Law will be subject to scrutiny.  The Law, which would place the position of Commissioner for Children and Young People on a legal footing, was proposed by Senator Sam Mezec (Minister for Children and Housing).

The principles of the Draft Law were adopted by the States Assembly and the Care of Children in Jersey Review Panel called the Law in for further examination.

Deputy Rob Ward, Chairman of the Review Panel, asked that the Assembly continue its consideration of the Draft Law at the meeting on 30th April 2019, once his Review Panel has scrutinised it.
