New States Members start work

​Newly elected States Members will start their induction programme today after being elected to the States Assembly on Wednesday 18th May 2018.

The induction programme is run by the States Greffe and provides new members with information about States procedures and the main issues likely to face the States Assembly over the next 4 years.

All 49 States members will be sworn in at 10 am on Friday 1st June 2018.

The current Chief Minister and Ministers will remain in office until their successors have been appointed. The Chief Minister Designate will be selected on 4th June and 10 new Ministers will be chosen on 7th and 8th June 2018. The new Ministers and Chief Minister will take up their positions when the appointment of the 10th Minister is announced in the States.

The first meeting of the new States for normal business will be held on 26th June 2018.
