Next Week's States Meeting

​Next week's States Meeting will commence at 1:30pm on Monday 12 December. The entire meeting will be broadcast live via Public-I from the States Chamber.

On Monday, States Members will ask Ministers up to two hours and 20 minutes of oral questions, which have been issued to them in advance (i.e. 'with notice'). Details of this week's oral questions with notice can be found on page 11 of the Order Paper. The following Ministers will answer oral questions which they have not been given in advance of the meeting (i.e., 'without notice') for 15 minutes each:

  • Minister for Economic Development, Tourism, Sport and Culture, Deputy Kirsten Morel

  • Minister for the Environment, Deputy Jonathan Renouf

  • Chief Minister, Deputy Kristina Moore

After question time, the Minister for Economic Development, Tourism, Sport and Culture will make a statement on the Export Strategy.

At 9:30am on Tuesday, 13 December, the States Assembly will begin the debate on the proposed Government Plan 2023-2026. After it is proposed by the Council of Ministers, the following amendments to the Government Plan will be debated by the States Assembly (in this order):

The States Assembly will then vote to approve or reject the Government Plan, as amended by the approved amendments.

Subject to approval of the Government Plan 2023-26, the States Assembly will debate the draft Finance Law, which gives effect to the above taxation decisions. The following amendments to the draft Law will also be debated if the first, second, third, twenty-fifth and twenty-sixth amendments to the Government Plan were approved.

From Tuesday onwards, the States Assembly will adjourn for lunch between 1pm and 2pm. A notification when each debate begins, a summary of the proposal and the results of each debate will be shared on the States Assembly Twitter pages throughout the meeting. A summary of the meeting will be shared at the end of each day on the news section of the States Assembly website.
