The States agreed to ratify a tax agreement with the United Kingdom at this morning's sitting (Tuesday 9th October 2018).

After question time, there was only one item of business, which was the 'Ratification of the agreement between the Government of Jersey and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland for the elimination of double taxation with respect to taxes on income and on capital gains and the prevention of tax evasion and avoidance'

The Minister for External Relations asked the States to adopt the proposition, which they did, with 46 votes in favour and no votes against.
