What is the review about?
The Environmental Tax proposals brought forward by the Minister for Treasury and Resources as part of the Draft Budget 2010.
Terms of reference
- To review the proposals for Environmental Taxes put forward by the Minister for Treasury and Resources as part of the Draft Budget 2010, with particular reference to:
- The direct linkage of environmental initiatives with funding through environmental taxation;
- The environmental benefits of the tax mechanism proposed;
- Consideration of the principles of Environmental Tax Reform;
- Any other pertinent matters that may arise during the course of the review.
- The Panel will report its findings and recommendations to the States.
