PAC attends Commonwealth Association of Public Accounts Committees AGM & Conference

​Yesterday, the Chair of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) attended the Annual General Meeting & Conference of the Commonwealth Association of Public Accounts Committees (CAPAC), hosted by the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) and chaired by Meg Hillier MP. 

It was agreed that by the attending Committees, Jersey’s PAC would be promoted from Associate Member to a Full Member of CAPAC, with Deputy Inna Gardiner elected to its Executive Committee. The AGM and Conference also saw the launch of the CAPAC online portal, designed to support the work of Public Accounts Committee within the Commonwealth and promote good governance. 

Deputy Gardiner said “The Commonwealth Association of Public Accounts Committees provides an ideal framework for engagement and collaboration with Committees around the world and I am delighted to join its Executive Committee. During the conference, it quickly became evident that we all face similar problems, regardless of our size, and I look forward to working with PACs from across the globe to share the innovative solutions we have each developed to address these problems.”
