Scrutiny review - Children, Education & Home Affairs Panel

Launch date: 31/07/2012

Review status: Report published

What is the review about?

In 2012 the Scrutiny Panel notes that the Home affairs Business Plan contained the following risk notice: ‘ongoing staff shortages could affect the ability of the service to maintain satisfactory disruption levels leading to increased availability of drugs in the Island’.
The Scrutiny Panel decided to investigate the declared risk by gathering evidence from relevant States agencies, in particular the States of Jersey Police, the Alcohol and Drugs Service and the independent charity support group, Silkworth. In the course of the review, the Minister for Home Affairs outlined for the Panel his policy of containment and disruption.
