Capture what it means to live in Jersey - enter the 'My Island' photography competition!

16th July 2024

The States Assembly invites Islanders to showcase their artistic talents in the 'My Island' Photography Competition. This year's theme is 'Local Icons' – a wide-ranging and inspiring subject that calls for their unique interpretation. Whether it's historic buildings, beloved landmarks, icons or people, we want to see them all!

As we are two years away from the next election, we want to encourage people to think about what matters most to them about Jersey and what will be most important to them when thinking about the future of Jersey. Deputy Carina Alves, Chair of Public Awareness and Education Sub-Committee, said 'The 'My Island' Photography Competition is a fantastic opportunity for Islanders to showcase what Jersey means to them. As we approach the next election, it's crucial to reflect on what matters most to us. I encourage everyone, of all ages, to participate and highlight the local icons that are special to them. Your photos will help us celebrate our heritage and shape Jersey's future together.'

A winner and runner-up will be selected from each of these three categories:

  • Children up to 10 years old
  • Young people aged 11-17
  • Adults aged 18+

Winners in each category will receive a £100 voucher, and runners-up will be awarded a £25 voucher. The winning photographs will be showcased in the Royal Square during Democracy Week 2024 (Monday 23 September to Friday 27 September) and displayed in the States Assembly buildings for one year.
