Job Vacancies with the States Assembly

7th January 2020

Would you like a challenging and rewarding role at the heart of political decision-making in Jersey?

We are adding a number of new roles to our team and are looking for highly motivated and energetic team players, who are passionate about democracy and want to help improve Jersey.

We are looking for:

  • someone to join our senior leadership team, as head of our new Digital and Public Engagement team. This role will lead our communications function, data and online publication, and education and election project work

  • the head of a new team to provide States Members with research and casework support and a programme of training and continuing professional development

  • research and project officers to undertake research and other work for a range of scrutiny panels, committees and States Members and to work on education and election projects

  • an office manager, looking after staff and States Members in Morier House and the States Building, and managing the States Greffe’s electronic and physical documents and records

You need to be comfortable working in a fast-moving environment, capable of working effectively with politicians, and politically impartial as we work with all States Members.

A diverse team helps us provide better support to States Members and the Island as a whole – and so we welcome enquiries from people who may not have a background in working in politics. We are also happy to consider requests for flexible working upon hiring; for most roles, the following types of flexibility are usually possible: flexible hours, an element of working from home, and compressed hours.

For an informal discussion about the roles please contact Lisa Hart on 441021 l.hart@gov.je.
